Rich is a self-confessed gear geek, mountaineer and climber. He is passionate about the outdoors and good gear. He’s never far from a mountain when he’s not busy working in a gear shop or being a student; despite all that he manages to find time to be a part time gear reviewer.
There’s nothing he likes more than getting covered in spin-drift in Scotland, jamming on grit in the Peak District or cruising along great ridges in the Alps.
Rich is the founder and main author/content creator of Mountain Gear Guide. He is also a qualified Climbing Instructor, holding the CWA/CWAA and is a RSA level 2 qualified route setter. He also manages to find time to be part of the local SAR team too.
Alasdair has been hill walking all of his life and climbing for 6 years all over the country. His more adventurous side started at university, where it developed from indoor climbing to cragging in the Peak District, multipitch climbs in Wales and the Lake District and finally to winter and alpine mountaineering.
Currently he works in a gear shop and has decided to use his technical gear knowledge and his mountaineering experience to begin reviewing outdoor gear
Ali is the newest member of the team and a work colleague. He is one of Rich’s climbing partners also.
